- Ho Yay: Some fans have noted that Bruno's unwavering dedication to Gallerian and his memory, particularly in the epilogue, make it sound like he was in love with him rather than just being particularly loyal.
- Jerkass Woobie: Gallerian Marlon is surprisingly pitiable for such a wicked man, suffering from betrayals and losses his entire life (including a Missing Mom and alcoholic father).
- Narm: The fact that Gallerian's father's name is Gandalf. Sure, he's named after the figure in norse mythology and not the Tolkien wizard but still, it makes him a little hard to take seriously during the scene with Elluka's execution in the prologue.
- Squick: The revelation that Ma really is Elluka, Gallerian's mother inspires this reaction. It's easy to suspect it but still icky when confirmed.
