* CommonKnowledge: It's often suggested that "Bungle in the Jungle", which was on the charts when the UsefulNotes/MuhammadAli[=/=]George Foreman [[Film/WhenWeWereKings "Rumble in the Jungle"]] fight happened in [[UsefulNotes/DemocraticRepublicOfTheCongo Zaire]], inspired the fight's nickname, with Ian Anderson himself suggesting that it's a reasonable possibility. In fact, the "Rumble in the Jungle" name was attached to the fight when it was first announced in July of 1974, and more likely it was a case of the song benefitting from the publicity about the fight when it was released in October.

* FaceOfTheBand: To the point where people think Music/JethroTull is the guy's name. It's Ian Anderson. Jethro Tull ''is'' a person's name, but he's an historical figure known for inventing the seed drill. It's comparable to assuming that Music/FranzFerdinand is a solo artist.

What Do You Mean It Wasnt Made On Drugs has been renamed to Quirky Work, and the writeup doesn't fit that.

* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Quite a few commentaries about the band's history like to imply that Anderson was on drugs of some kind. The fact is that Anderson doesn't do any drugs at all and only rarely drinks. In fact, he has claimed that his few experiments with drugs hindered his creative process.

* BetterThanCanon:
** The version of ''Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die!'' that was recorded for the TV special is generally regarded as being better than the original album, especially after Steven Wilson remixed it.
** Modern versions of ''Broadsword and the Beast'' include a number of tracks that were cut from the original album. Some fans (and Dave Pegg) think the cut tracks were stronger than the follow up album ''Under Wraps''.

** The repeating and layered chanting of "The mouse police never sleeps, the mouse police never sleeps..." at the end of the titular song is surprisingly aggressive, emphasized by there being ''no music'' for a good ten seconds.

** Whether it's this or {{hilarious|InHindsight}} (or both), Mick Abrahams wrote and sang the song "Move on Alone" for the band's first album. Abrahams would leave the band shortly after the album's release. Ian Anderson lampshades it in the linear notes for the release of ''This Was''.
