• Adorkable:
  • Jemima is a lot smarter than Daniel but still has a childlike enthusiasm for space travel that touches even Not-McKeown's heart.
  • Daniel's childish love of star pilots and desire to impress Jemima are both endearing and quirky.
• Alternate Character Interpretation:
  • Is Robert Blaze actually The Ace or has he become nothing more than a Con Man who is trying to preserve the finances of star pilots versus actually preserving the legacy of their heroics?
  • Is Ms. Warden as cold and soulless as she appears to be or does she have a Hidden Heart of Gold?
  • Were the MalMind actually an Always Chaotic Evil race led by a Psychotic Man Child or not nearly as dangerous as they appeared to be since their creator only was cosplaying a a supervillain?
  • Is the protagonist actually a Fallen Hero who once was every bit The Ace he claims to be or was he always a Small Name, Big Ego was unintentionally dealing with a threat not nearly as threatening as it appeared to be?
  • Star Pilots in general seem to get one of these. The narrative seems to zig-zag between the idea of them being actually a bunch of heroes who were dashing champions of justice and Manchild Jerkass individuals who were never as heroic as they thought, just playing at heroes while dealing with equally childish pirates and supervillains.
• Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Daniel becomes this in Will Leave The Galaxy For Good after all of the traumas he suffers in the previous book.
