• Nightmare Fuel: The Enchanted Woods as portrayed in the story. From the name, you would envision a magical forest inhabited by a crazed Mushroom Man, a tree spirit, a monstrous Haunted House, a Rock Monster and a moth fairy, right? Wrong. Instead, we have a red, hellish forest inhabited by demons and monsters that are always trying to kill you, led by a tall, black, shadowy demon named the Shadowman. Seriously, thank god Doug survived this place!
• Unfortunate Character Design: The Shadowman's design in the "Getting Out Alive" portion has an unintentionally phallic look to it.
