  • Awesome Music: While the OP and ED are both really good, the insert songs are also no less than amazing. It's because all of them are composed and sang by J-rocker Miyavi.
  • Draco in Leather Pants:
    • The Gravedigger/Inami Nahoshi after revealing her backstory and arrest has earned some fans. They even want to see her to become a Brilliant Detective. Which happens in the manga sequel.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:

    • Hondomachi/Fukuda becomes one of the popular ships, especially since Episode 12. In the series finale, it ends up not happening as the result of Fukuda still in comatose state in the real world, with it unknown how long he will stay in a coma.
    • Sakaido/Kaeru becomes one of the popular ships for anime series.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: ID:Invaded is pretty much popular in China with more than 50 million views in Bilibili site.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Fukuda's multiple failures as the Brilliant Detective Anaido become less hilarious as it revealed that everytime he dives to an ID well he fully remembers himself as Fukuda and his arithmomania comes back as his head hole was gone. He intentionally dies because his OCD tortures him and makes him want to immediately return to his real body just to avoid it. In the same episode it was also revealed that Fukuda's mental disorder made him into a Death Seeker and led him to drill his own head.

  • I Knew It!: John Walker being chief Hayaseura was so obvious from the moment they appeared on the screen, that some viewers thought it a Red Herring.
  • Les Yay: In Episode 1 and 2, two female victims of The Perforator shown to be very close and holding each other hands. It is unknown if they were lovers in the real world or they act like siblings in Fukuda's ID well.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Tamotsu Fukuda, after surviving a drill into his head and inadvertently curing his own arithmomania, becomes "The Perforator" and drills holes into people's head in hope of curing them of similar conditions. When the police led by Koharu Hondomachi tracks down Fukuda, he pretends to be one of The Perforator's victims before killing the doctors transporting him and kidnapping Koharu. After being convinced by Koharu that his actions are doing more harm than good to his victims, Fukuda willingly surrenders himself to the police and helps them bring other serial killers to justice. Tricking Akihito Narihisago into entering his own ID Well on John Walker's behalf in hopes of killing Akihito and himself, Fukuda is convinced by Koharu to turn against John Walker, helping her and Akihito uncover Walker's true identity set up a trap for him before Fukuda sacrifices his life to save Koharu.
  • Unpopular Popular Character: Fukuda isn't well-liked in-universe because of being an actual serial killer and deemed to be failure as a Brilliant Detective. But when the File 8: Desertified was aired, his popularity skyrocketed as most of the viewers enjoyed his tics and interactions with Sakaido (as it implies that it was his original personality).
    • Fukuda is even become more popular when it is revealed that he's actually a great Brilliant Detective and having big contributions on the final episodes. He even manage to win in a poll as the Best Supporting Male In Winter 2020 anime poll.
