YMMV / Hussite Trilogy

Go To

  • Designated Hero: Reynevan is preachy, self-righteous, impulsive, and has a tendency to think with his dick; he gets better with Character Development but none of the above traits ever go away completely, getting him - and worse, everyone around him - into a heap of trouble over and over again.
  • Fan Nickname:
    • Because the trilogy doesn't have a single author-approved official title, several popular names for it have been floating around since first publication. "The Hussite Trilogy" is by far the most popular of these, at least among central European readers. "The Narrenturm Trilogy" or "The Reynevan Trilogy", in reference to the name of the first novel or the main character, also show up from time to time.
    • The name Trylogia husycka (Polish for "The Hussite Trilogy") seems to be finally officially accepted, at least by the publisher. It is used on their official website, so it can be considered of Ascended Fanon.
  • Narm: in Warriors of God and Lux Perpetua Sapkowski gets into an annoying habit of putting periods. Into sentences. Completely at random. Sometimes it's used for emphasis but more often than not the thing being emphasized is so obvious, or so trivial, that it ends up being laughable.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not Political?: Admittedly, there are some bits in the series that either border on straight-up allegorical nods to modern events, or instead provide broad applicability to problems pestering today's society and the present world. Sapkowski admitted as much, though a lot of the subtler stuff is left to the reader.
