• Harsher in Hindsight: In the film, Val must fix his relationship with his ex-wife and estranged son in order to save his career. In reality, Allen remains estranged from his ex-partner, Mia Farrow, and has become even more estranged from his son, Ronan Farrow, who has built his journalism career on exposing sexual misconduct in Hollywood and who has backed up his adopted sister Dylan in her accusations that Allen sexually abused her. Incidentally, Hollywood Ending is one of a handful of films that happen to be inspired by Allen's personal life that have since quietly gone out of print.
