- Anvilicious: Eda's disbelief at Tibbles' extortionate price for her curse suppression potion is slightly reworded to make it an even more blatant Take That! at real life For Profit Healthcare practices.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Part of Camilia's angst towards Luz's kidnapping is exacerbated by the fact that Luz's father walked out on them when Luz was still a toddler. "Reaching Out" reveals that Luz's father is actually dead and that they implicitly had a good relationship beforehand, making this improvised plot point retroactively kind of mean-spirited. Even the author admits to feeling guilty about this in the opening of chapter 8 because he believed Luz's father would be left unexplored in the series, citing Phineas and Ferb's biologial father and mother, and the parents of Dipper & Mabel and Sasha & Marcy as examples. However, he does also say that he can find a way to work with it.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: The author off-handedly mentions that Luz and Camila are from Connecticut on the grounds that series creator Dana Terrace is a native. In "Hunting Palismen", Luz actually does mention being from Connecticut.
