  • Author's Saving Throw:
    • Following the massive negative backlash from the release of the original Update 15 trailer, Team 17 and the other developers behind the game have since publicly apologized for the trailer being released. On top of that, rather than push through with the now-controversial content updates teased in the infamous trailer, they've scaled them back and revised them entirely, with their focus now being to improve existing content rather than continue adding new but buggy content.
    • Following the overall abysmal reception of the original British update, Team 17 and the other developers behind the game have made it a point to completely rework British weapons and equipment to not only function properly, but also to make them more historically authentic. The subsequent British Rework updates have since addressed all of these issues, with the British (and German Afrika Korps) getting more appropriate weapons, uniforms, equipment, and even tanks for both El Alamein and Driel.
  • Game-Breaker: The M1 Garand rifle is seen by many as this. Unlike the Gewehr 43 and SVT-40 for the Germans and Soviets, which are issued only to higher-level players, specialist, and officer-related classes, the Garand is issued from the get-go to several US infantry classes as their default weapon, particularly to the US rifleman class. By contrast, the German and Soviet rifleman classes are forced to contend using the bolt-action Karabiner 98k and Mosin-Nagant M1891, which both have much slower rates of fire and much longer reload times. Even worse, all high-caliber rifles, Garand included, are a One-Hit Kill to enemies should they be shot in most parts of the body.
  • Tainted by the Preview: Following the release of the original Update 15 trailer, many Tactical Shooter fans who had expressed interest in the game were alienated by the direction that the game was taking.
  • That One Level:
    • "Purple Heart Lane" is considered by many to be the worst map currently in the game, no thanks to the numerous deep bodies of water littered throughout the map that can sink vehicles and cause players to drown, as well as the little to no cover offered in the marshy wetlands surrounding the main road. Good luck on trying to capture or defend points not located on the central main road...
    • "Remagen" is also seen by many as this, no thanks to the middle of the map having only one crossing point, the very exposed Ludendorff Bridge. Artillery, anti-tank guns, tanks, machine guns, and snipers can all easily pick off advancing enemies on or near the bridge while remaining a safe distance away.
