• Captain Obvious Reveal: The reveal in Ship of Time that Annie is the mysterious "her" of Na-h Alba was pretty easy to guess, as Empyrean had previously said to Nimu that George knew "her", which would make the reader immediately think that that this "her" is Annie
• Even Better Sequel/ Growing the Beard: The books are generally agreed to get better with each installment
• Hilarious in Hindsight: In the prologue of Cosmic Treasure Hunt, George is having a dream where he is taking off into space in the Space Shuttle Atlantis, leaving his family and friends behind, albeit for a short time. At the end of Blue Moon, George takes off into space for real on the ship Artemis, leaving his family and friends behind and not knowing how long he will be gone. This could also be seen as Harsher in Hindsight however.
  • The ship being called Artemis also counts now that we know NASA's mission to return to the Moon will be called, well, Artemis.
  • George's pig is called Freddy
  • In the fourth book, the Prime Minister is referred to as 'she'. When the book was published in 2014, the Prime Minister of the UK was David Cameron, who was male and therefore could not have been the Prime Minister referred to in that book. However, in 2016 Cameron resigned as Prime Minister and was replaced by Theresa May. The only time the year was ever mentioned in the series was in Ship of Time, when it is mentioned that it was 2018 when George took off in the Artemis and that the year is now 2081 (or Year 41, as it is usually referred to as). The former piece of information would place Unbreakable Code in 2017, meaning that May would have been Prime Minister, something the authors would have had no idea about.
  • In the first book, George's parents go on a protest about the environment. George wasn't the biggest fan of it. In 2019, 12 years after the book was published, schoolchildren around the world skipped school to go on a very similar thing.
