  • Accidental Innuendo: In the Barbados episode, the islands of Trinidad and Barbados are connected via a pipeline in a rather awkward way. Trinidad agrees.
  • Fan Nickname: Fans took to calling him "Barby". His name is now shown as "Paul B. (aka Barby)" in his newer videos.
  • Growing the Beard: After gaining a bigger fanbase and more budget, much of his later videos now have higher quality, more sections including animals, food, culture, sports and music sections covered by his friends. Most viewers and people from the earlier countries hope that he will remake the older country videos to match that of his current style.
  • Tear Jerker: In some of his videos, he explains that part of the money he earns via Patreon donations goes to his father, who was diagnosed with brain cancer. Paul's father died on April 19, 2017.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Starting in the Venezuela episode, Flag/Fan Day was reduced to Youtube Shorts due to declining views, and the episode corrections and package-opening were cut. Fans who came just for the flag section were dismayed to see that the "BLOOD OF THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR THE FREEDOM!" animations were cut as a result.
  • Unintentional Period Piece:
    • When he explained the awkward and difficult border situation between India and Bangladesh and the enclave problem within the latter. Months after the video was made, India and Bangladesh actually started resolving this problem - Barby notes it in the India episode.
    • In his "Which Countries Will You Cover?" video, Paul notes the very real possibility that a new country could be formed (or be internationally recognized as sovereign, in cases like Kosovo or Palestine) while he's making the series. If so, he will interrupt his planned alphabetical order to cover the country only if it's earlier in the alphabet than where he is at that point. The first use of this rule was not due to the above possibilities, but was instituted in response to the news that Swaziland changed its name to eSwatini.
