YMMV / Fun House (1988)

  • Funny Moments
    • On the UK version, one team in a Christmas episode were asked what the day after Christmas Day was. They answered with "Easter".
  • The Problem with Licensed Games: The Fun House NES game was absolutely nothing like the show. At all.
  • Seasonal Rot: The Fox Kids season had a reduced episode count due to airing weekly on Saturdays as opposed to a five-a-day strip (aside from American Gladiators, once-a-week games had long since gone out of style), Tiny was replaced by "MC Mike" Chambers, who barely did any announcing and performed idiotic raps every episode, and the Fun House itself was made bigger and more confusing, in turn eliminating what little strategy it had before.
  • Tear Jerker: Co-producer Bob Synes (who had previously worked on the ABC run of Split Second (1972), the 1983-84 Dream House, and for Lorimar/Telepictures The All-New Let's Make A Deal and The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime) died of melanoma in August 1990; as a result, the final season was lovingly dedicated to his memory (as seen in the credits), a room in the new Fun House was named "Bob's Mad Mall" after him, and JD signed off the first episode of the season with this quote:
JD: I wanna thank the creator of our show, Bob Synes, for making this show as special as it is. We love it, we love him too. Hope your house is a Fun House, thanks.
