• Awesome Music: Although fanfics don't have music, The Merger Magikoopa stated what music would most battles have. While most of them are used repetitively, he picked them because of their awesomeness.
  • Emerl's first challenge as a newlyborn heart is facing a strong Darkness. Said Darkness is Vanitas, complete with "Enter the Darkness." Since it's Vanitas who killed Strelitzia, the latter thought that, if Emerl can defeat Vanitas, he can defeat any foe.
  • Most themes are repetitive, due to the same battle style being used. Deltarune Chapter 2 music only exist because, when the chapter was released, the song was still in The Merger Magikoopa's head.
    • In friendly battles, "Smart Race" plays.
    • In hostile battles with other playable characters, "The 13th Struggle" plays.
    • In battles against Chis and the penultimate battles (Robotnik), "Vim and Vigor" plays.
    • In battles against Guard Robos, "Tension Rising" plays. Exception is a battle in Cream's chapter, due to them fighting alongside Sigma, which has a Theme Music Power-Up.
    • In battles against Sigma, which are always with two phases, "NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A" plays in phase 1, and "BIG SHOT" plays in phase 2.
  • However, the best battles are agreed to be the battle against Metallix in Gimme Shelter in Metallix's chapter, and the final battle between Emerl's Lingering Will and Gemerl. In both cases, the choice of music makes the fight even more tragic.
    • After telling Emerl it's Time he (Emerl) learned "what real pain feels like", Metallix uses a Time Stone to bring Ventus-Vanitas, Terranort and Anti-Aqua, each with their own version of "Dismiss" (Terranort's theme) in the following order: Ventus-Vanitas, who was already defeated, symbolizes the Past and has the BBS version; Terranort, who was yet to be defeated, symbolizes the Present and has the 2.5 version; Anti-Aqua, who has yet to be created, symbolizes the Future and has the Re:Mind version. After Ventus-Vanitas, Terranort and Anti-Aqua are all defeated, Metallix attacks Emerl himself, and the music is replace by the Dream Drop Distance version of "L'eminenza Oscura".
    • To show furthermore the tragism that is Emerl's fate, in the battle against Gemerl, the Re:Mind version of "L'eminenza Oscura" plays.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The battle between Emerl and Metallix when the latter summons Terranort, Ventus-Vanitas and Anti-Aqua, as well as the usage of "L'eminenza Oscura", becomes more heartbreaking once it's revealed Metallix is Sonic's Bad Future self, roboticized.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: This is not the first fanfic in which Emerl uses a Keyblade. A Fangirl of Emerl's, DragonMaster 77, attempted several Kingdom Hearts alternate universes with Emerl in Sora's role.
• Memetic Badass: As if Emerl wasn't badass enough, this depiction of him cranks everything about him up to eleven, including his badassery. Not only he has a Keyblade, but he even pulled a Terra, who, being a Base-Breaking Character aside, is mostly known for having such a strong will that attempting a Grand Theft Me on him is signing your death sentence. What's more, he prevented "The Slap" from happening. If he can prevent an event such as "The Slap", what can stop him?
• Moral Event Horizon: Robotnik crosses it by attempting to use Gemerl and the Final Egg Blaster to destroy Knothole.
