• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: When Japan got wind of this series, they loved it to a point the cast attended conventions there, the series got their own Japanese-language fanzine and even a theme song composed and sung by Akira Kushida (well-known mainly for his work with the Metal Heroes franchise, and also did the opening for Taiyou Sentai Sun Vulcan and the ending for Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger, among many others). • Growing the Beard: The special effects significantly improve over the course of the series. Considering the scale of the production, the Lexos invasion in Episode 5 is a sight to behold.
• Narm Charm: The whole point of the show is to be this.
• Nightmare Fuel: When the series goes through Cerebus Syndrome, it gets slightly Bloodier and Gorier, the villains generally become significantly more wicked and sadistic, and bigger casualties happen. Even with the Narm Charm involved, some scenes can really make you feel uncomfortable.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Lady Warcry is introduced as a sympathetic character motivated by Avenging the Villain. This is never exploited beyond the short flashback to establish her motivations. Arguably justified due to the limited budget.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Episode 3 has Thierry transforming without stock footage, and it looks awesome.
