• Broken Base: The canceled memoir of a foreign volunteer who's also a known neo-Nazi. The fanbase was sharply divided between those who wanted it published for the information and those who found financially supporting the author morally unacceptable.
• Fan Nickname:
  • He's called "Gun Jesus" by his fans, a comparison suggested by his long hair and beard. Qualifies as an Ascended Meme, with Ian having made videos dressed as "Gun Jesus" for Halloween 2015 and Christmas 2016.
  • Comparisons to spider monkeys or other such animals are common in competition videos, as Ian is impressively agile. All the more so as he shoots left-handed and still manages to be quite handy with weapons that were definitely not made with ambidextrous ergonomics in mind.
• Funny Moments:
  • While reviewing the China Lake grenade launcher, he pauses while discussing its design to say that, yes, he knows exactly what most of his viewers are wondering, and no, you cannot slam-fire the pump-action grenade launcher.
  • In more than one Back-Up Gun match, Ian has used a barely functional pistol that isn't even able to complete the stage within the time limit, and he wasn't even in last place.
• Memetic Mutation: "He's got me now... or does he?"^Explanation A video discussing a Disarm, Disassemble, Destroy scene from Lethal Weapon 4 has a short scene where Ian pulls off a similar maneuver using an old Czech pistol, using this line. It spawned a few memes, mostly pointing out the obvious problem Ian also mentioned in the original video — that you're not pulling that maneouver faster than the attacker can pull the trigger.
