  • Risca's attempt and failure to destroy the Warlock Lord with his druid magic; it was probably meant to explain in the Sword of Shannara why Allanon couldn't have done the same.
  • The Warlock Lord accompanied his army in this book but remains in the Skull Kingdom in Sword. This was probably because he'd be vulnerable if he went with his invading army to the Southlands on the chance that the Sword of Shannara was found.
• Ho Yay: between Tay and Jerle. They are very close in a way that can be interpreted as more than just friendship, and Tay's death happens in Jerle's arms.
