- Bile Fascination: This film has a surprising 44% "Rotten" in Rotten Tomatoes' Audience Score (and an outright whopping no percent in the Tomatometer), was completely savaged by critics when it came out, and was one of Multicom Entertainment's "50 Worst Movies Ever Made". General consensus amongst viewer reviews is that it's a film only worth watching if you're doing your own "Mystery Science Theater 3000" experience.
- Narm: This film is packed from end to end with unintentional comedy.
- One of the biggest examples is the Falling-in-Love Montage near the end of the second act between Cam and Jill, which has one of the most standard "from the moment I laid eyes upon you, you lit up my life" love ballads ever.
- The opening "The Villain Sucks" Song montage repeats its footage during the chorus.
- Jill's excessive use of Double Entendre while teaching Cam how to drive the dune buggy, even licking her lips sensually when she shows Cam how to shift gears.
- Values Dissonance: Let's just say that Dolan is a mirror of how times have changed regarding representation of Native Americans in cinema (even if it's an important plot point that he's acting like that because he is deranged).
