• Can't Un-Hear It: It's impossible to read the book without hearing Mel Smith from the adaptation.
• Values Dissonance: A children's book that has rampant smoking and drinking in it? Not likely these days. We also have the American adaption of the film that has Santa being far more jolly than the British version under the belief that Americans would not want a grumpy Santa.
