• Awesome Art: While Ryouji Hirano had a following for years due to his work with Shonen Jump, it's near universally agreed his work here is amazing.
• Broken Base: The Adaptational Personality Change given to Okita and Nobunaga, where they are given more serious and slightly more historically accurate personalities. Either it was an inevitable change that allows for a fascinating reinterpretation of the characters, or it strays so far from the originals to where it betrays the point of making a manga about them.
