• Base-Breaking Character: Esdeath, just like in canon. Some like her depiction just fine; some think she's being given an undeserved case of Adaptational Heroism; and some have attempted to justify her misdeeds.
• Catharsis Factor: Honest suffers a very gruesome demise in Chapter 50, and deserves every single moment of it.
• Draco in Leather Pants: Ever since the release of Chapter 33, Esdeath fans have been actively trying to whitewash her many, many crimes by claiming her victims started it, were evil themselves, or that Shirou is just as murderous as she is. None of these claims have been backed up, or are blatantly contradicted by canon material, but they are persistent.
• He's Just Hiding: Despite having been incinerated by a magically-created sun, some readers think Esdeath might still be alive. The ending suggests those readers might be onto something...
• Ship-to-Ship Combat: Between Shirou/Akame and Shirou/Esdeath.
