YMMV / Fatal Frame

  • Demonic Spiders: The Wandering Monk who can show up during the 3rd Night if you remain idle for too long. He's one of the more difficult enemies due to how quickly he flies around and prevents you from shooting him, and how minute the chances to push him with a Zero Shot are. He can also appear almost anywhere, so you can be screwed if you fight him in a small room where he can hide behind the walls while you can hardly move around.
  • So Bad, It's Good: The English voice acting is quite bad, but the robotic tone might sound fitting for some ghosts.
  • That One Achievement: Certain photos (like "Woman Who Jumps", "Kid Running", and "Kid Hiding 3") are extremely difficult to catch on your first try as they last about a second, and require to be placed in a very specific spot and know exactly when to take the picture.
  • That One Boss: The Himuro master, who constantly flickers between left and right, attacks by moving in a way that puts him out of your reach when the circle turns orange, can catch you in a 3-hit combo, and also releases floating heads to cause you Interface Screw.
  • That One Puzzle: "Who is in front of the back..?" The Kagome doll puzzle was not localized well, leading many players to be utterly confused when they finally picked the correct doll. To the game's credit, there's no way to fail it, as it removes one doll from the board for each wrong selection you make.
  • Too Cool to Live: Mafuyu Hinasaki. Presented as an amazing guy that has a pleasing personality, Mafuyu took care of his sister after their mother committed suicide. He headed into Himuro Mansion to find his professor and his colleagues, but got accosted by Kirie and lost the camera. Then he went on to explore the mansion without any weapons, was clever enough to figure out the events of the mansion's tragedy and left notes for Miku to find. In the end, Mafuyu decides to stay with Kirie at the Hellgate so that she'll never feel lonely again.
