Accidental Aesop: One can infer the horrors of climate change from the sudden Mood Whiplash of the beautiful aquious world drying up and wilting and filled with monsters.
Nightmare Fuel: Halfway through the cartoon the climate changes from wet and cold to hot and dry, and the plants and animals die and are replaced by monsters that dig up the earth and destroy everything. The frenzied and desperate singing doesn't help either.
Unfortunate Character Design: A lot of the Eldritch Abomination resemble KKK Hoods, taken up to eleven when one steals the pointed hat of the main character and puts it on. Given that the animation is from Soviet Latvia, it's pretty unlikely that they intended to promote American White Supremacy.
