• Annoying Video Game Helper: The mod's narration does not care for pragmatism and will whine at you for every such decision you make. Don't want to fight that Slaver and bought a slave instead? No Sympathy, you are apparently now the scum of the universe for being "just as bad as they are" even if you thought you were doing it out of kindness.
• Nightmare Fuel: Some of the new sectors and events qualify. Probably the worst one is a beacon that's inexplicably surrounded by complete darkness; the event directly mentions that the sight panics your crew, and various outcomes include a crew member suddenly dropping dead, a ghost ship attacking you, or taking hull damage from a collision with something impossibly huge your ship can't identify at all.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The new starting loadouts for the ships were so hated that one of the most commonly used mods use in conjunction with this one is a counter-mod that resets them to vanilla.
