- Narm: The book is very clearly attempting to tell a serious story about the struggles of sexual minorities in 1950's America and the HUAC commie-hunts of the same time — with thinly guised versions of Snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound and Quick Draw McGraw as its leads. Needless to say, some people find it very hard to take the book seriously, not at all helped by some of artist Mike Feehan's questionable artistic choices.
- Unintentional Uncanny Valley: The animal characters can very much come off this way, due to the combination of artist Mike Feehan's more realistic renditions of classic Hanna-Barbera characters, and the fact that none of those characters wear pants.
