- Angst? What Angst?: The King and Queen of the Dingoes seem way too unconcerned of losing all but one of their pups during the flood at the beginning.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The film has a few sequences that do nothing to advance the plot:
- The encounter with the aboriginal girl and her family.
- The fire dance sequence.
- Narm: The U.S. version, thanks to extra dialog and narrator lines, which explain many obvious things:(When discovering fire) "It’s so pretty! It’s like the stars and the sun!"
- What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: The film contains a lot of Family-Unfriendly Violence, death and scary images; Yoram Gross said that in hindsight it was "not good for children, bad for children".
