YMMV / Eldritch (2013)

  • Demonic Spiders:
    • Mummies in Nyarlathotep's realm and Asylum, which are unkillable and have an average speed.
    • Fire Bugs. Take those tiny, hard to hit Bugs, then give them about 4 times the HP and the ability to shoot fireballs. Ouch.
    • Shoggoths. Big, which makes them hard to get around if they've got you cornered, yet also surprisingly fast, and they hit like a truck.
    • Flying Polyps. Take flying eyes, give them the ability to hear, make them way faster, give them the super-powered green fireballs, and let them tank damage like nothing. Easily the most dangerous enemy in the third region.
  • Goddamned Bats: The Bugs, which are very weak but can be numerous and move very low on the ground, thus being sometimes hard to notice.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • You have a Destruction Amulet, a revolver, and enough bullets? You can now move freely inside the maze with the ability to dig your way through the walls. If you also have the Materialize spell, you are then able to block your tunnels. Wearing the Lockpick Kit allows to open doors without spending a key while they are only opened for the player character and locked for the monsters; it also allows to add a lock to any door, preventing any monster to use it. Finally, the Speed Boots increase the moving speed. With all those items, enough ammunition, and enough artifacts, the player character's being virtually immortal if playing carefully enough.
    • In Asylum, the spell Soul Trap. Using it instantly destroys the enemy you have targeted and transforms them into trapped souls. Not only does this increase your final score if you can survive, but this spell also allows you to destroy normally immortal enemies, including Mummies. But surely it must cost a ton of artifacts to use, right? Nope, only 10.
