- And You Thought It Would Fail: They formed out of a small town in Germany in 1992, at the height of the grunge era, when very few record labels would touch a metal act with a ten foot pole. Twenty five years later, they're one of the most successful German power metal bands in the business today. "Catch of the Century" even builds itself around this in retaliation to all the labels who refused to touch them.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment:
- "Lucifer in Love", the 32-second interlude on Hellfire Club, with soulful piano and a downwards pitch-shifted woman moaning. It immediately segues into "Navigator" as if nothing happened.
- The "Progressive" version of "Space Police" - it's exactly the same as the original, apart from when Tobi sings in an even sillier falsetto than normal solely during the second verse.
- Ho Yay: To the point that Tobi sometimes changes the line "What's night without the day?" in "Every Night Without You" to "What's Edguy without the gays?" when performing it live.
- Tear Jerker: Several of Edguy's ballads, such as "Scarlet Rose" and "The Spirit Will Remain".
