YMMV / Eat Bulaga!

Go To

  • Archive Panic: 10,000+ episodes, the most out of any Filipino television show.
  • Fandom Rivalry: With It's Showtime, not helping matters was the alleged obscenity case with Vice Ganda and his life partner Ion Perez which led to the show's suspension, leading to a bitter feud between fans of both E.A.T. and It's Showtime.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: While the AlDub pairing was indeed wildly popular during its heyday, many of those who watched the "Kalyeserye" were more into the antics of Jose, Wally and Paolo in character as the Lolas than the pairing itself.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: AlDub, referring to the pairing between Alden Richards and internet personality Maine Mendoza, who was then known as her character "Yaya Dub".
  • Tear Jerker:
    • The cast's reaction to former castmember Francis Magalona's death from cancer.
    • The backstories of some contestants in the 'Bawal Judgemental' segment will move people into tears. There are too many to count, but some of the more noteworthy are as follows:
      • One example is how some of the female Overseas Filipino workers who returned home from the Middle East recounted their stories of physical abuse by their employers. The contestant—actor and then Manila Mayor Isko Moreno—donated all his winnings to the guests as aid.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Not everyone is on board with the new cast, to say the least.
  • Values Dissonance:
    • It gets egregious when then-five year old Baste was made to sing "Versace On The Floor" in a 2018 episode. The boy was certainly unaware about the song's subject matter, and anyone with the right mind would tell that his performance was wrong on so many levels. Had it been done elsewhere, Tito, Vic and Joey along with the show's producers could be charged with child abuse for corrupting an innocent by making him sing such a lewd song.
    • Not helping matters were long-standing allegations of the TVJ having supposedly raped a young actress and coerced her to keep her mouth shut about it, ultimately leading to her suicide.
    • Another thing is that in an "All for Juan" segment, Joey de Leon spuriously dismissed depression as "just something made up by people" and "they do it to themselves", further chalking it up as having something to do with a person's financial standing. Maine Mendoza, netizens and even Joey's own wife and children called him out of this, causing him to apologize the next day. In a morbidly ironic twist, Joey's own son Keempee reportedly suffered from depression not long after he was booted out of the show.
  • Spiritual Successor: The E.A.T. iteration was this to Eat Bulaga!.
