- Fan-Preferred Couple: Among Eagle Riders' small following, Joe/Kelly seems more widely preferred to Hunter/Kelly. This is due to the magnified Ship Tease in Saban's scripts, as well as fans generally finding Joe to be more laid-back and likeable than Hunter.
- Macekre: As much as Battle of the Planets and G-Force are criticized, Eagle Riders would seem to be the most heavily-panned of the adaptations for the extreme liberties and censorship taken as the series went on.
- Narm: Mallanox's new form is named Happy Boy. Happy Boy. The reason Cybercon gave was because Mallanox liked to laugh too much, but it doesn't make the villain name any less strange.
- Joe's habit of internal monologuing was this to some fans as well, along with him whistling "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" when he returns to the team (as opposed to the original Gatchaman theme-based whistle).
- The episodic dialogue exchange "Eagle Riders, what's our mission?" "To defend the Global Good!" is also memorable and criticized for its cheesiness.
- The Scrappy: Hunter seems to be the most criticized and mocked by fans, due to the Saban writers exaggerating Ken's angsty moments and rewriting his dialogue to the point where he came off as a little too whiny and overdramatic.
