• Character Rerailment: Following critiques of the writing of his character in Season 1, Gyro is much more in line with his usual depictions in this episode, having Adorkable fun trying out his new invention and carrying out scientific research.
• Nausea Fuel:
  • The Gyropuddlians had a town on a "floating island" in the toilet, it's even acknowledged as disgusting by Louie.
  • The "used gauze" that Huey finds in his bag is covered in something brown, likely dried blood. Huey throws it away while gagging in disgust.
• Older Than They Think: You know how all other scenes like this episode's opening are a Raiders of the Lost Parody? Well, this is not. The artifact being called the "Idol of Cibola" makes it clear the scene is based on the Barks comic "The Seven Cities of Cibola," which coincidentally was the inspiration for the iconic opening to the first installment of the Indiana Jones franchise. Scrooge McDuck did it first and is now referencing that time.
