• Ass Pull: The Dodonpa wave sends Goku all the way from the tournament stage in Mifan, to Korin's tower, all to give him the lesson that he would've learned in the main canon.
  • Almost immediately after this, Tao is intercepted while he chases down Goku by Arale, who had no build-up whatsoever. While it's a fun action scene and ends the Tao subplot, it comes out of absolutely nowhere.
• Can't Un-Hear It: The absence of Stephanie Nadolny as Goku in the dub is very apparent, especially since almost every other voice actor from the main Dragon Ball dub is present, it makes her absence incredibly jarring.
• Even Better Sequel: To the last two movies. While they are generally regarded as alright if flawed, this movie is regarded as a fun retelling of two of the manga's arcs that keep things interesting and still hold up today.
• Questionable Casting: Ceyli Delgadillo reprises her role as Goku from the previous film, and while she's somewhat improved here, her rather soft-spoken and subdued voice is still a strange choice for the character.
• Retroactive Recognition: Justin Cook has one of his earliest roles voicing a colonel as part of the Mifan Army.
