• Values Dissonance: As we meet each of the members of John Jarrett's family, each one is presented as being so full of vices that one could not blame Jarrett when it is revealed he is still very much alive, but has moved elsewhere in California and essentially estranged himself from his family. Today, Jarrett might be presented far less symathetically ... in the very least, someone who is in the very least emotionally cold and distant, uncaring and perhaps pushing old school values on his children when they're more progressive, and as a result needs a swift attitude adjustment kick in the ass.
