* ArchivePanic: We're talkin' about a character who has appeared in a considerable quantity of videogames, thousands of newspaper strips, a frickin' helluva lot in animation, and an absolutely ''monstrous'' amount in comic book stories...which have been released on a non-stop basis since ''1934'' and are unlikely to ever stop as long as The WaltDisney Company operates.
* BizarroEpisode: Holy precious , it wouldn't be a surprise if half of the budget for ''Duck Pimples'' [[WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs went to LSD for the animators.]]
* DesignatedVillain: Believe it or not there are some shorts where he comes across as this, such as the shorts where he's terrorized by Chip and Dale. While Donald's {{Jerkass}} tendencies often make him an ideal target for LaserGuidedKarma, there are also shorts where he actually does nothing to provoke characters like Chip and Dale, who decide to attack him for no better reason than he happens to be there.
* EarWorm: ''"Who's got the sweetest disposition?"'' Listen to it [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jRILvxnf94 here!]]
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: In the Netherlands, Poland, Italy and the Nordic countries, Donald Duck is more popular than Mickey Mouse.
** Also thanks to Italian and Nordic comics being translated he is also very popular in Germany and France.
* HilariousInHindsight: In one comic book adaptation called ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_in_the_Andes! Lost in the Andes!]]'', Donald and his nephews discover a world that is similar to the world of ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' well before the video game was invented.
* JerkassWoobie: Donald would be a lot more sympathetic if i[t weren't for his HairTriggerTemper.
* MemeticBadass: It's a bit of a running joke on 4chan's /co/ that Donald can basically win in any fight, up to and including destroying the [[Franchise/StarWars Death Star]] single-handedly.
* MemeticMutation: ''{{Webcomic/Dolan}}''.
** From the Silly Symphony comic [[HilariousInHindsight in which he sends Goofy to a watery death]], his [[http://www.comicsbeat.com/wp-content/2008/04/donaldduckyoujerk.jpg satisfied pose in the last panel]] is often [[MemeticBadass used]] to show him pimpwalking away from all sorts of catastrophes.
** Screenshots from ''DerFuehrersFace'' are very popular on the internet mainly because a lot of people find it hilarious and shocking to see a beloved children's cartoon character in a Nazi uniform. [[spoiler: Granted in the actual film it was [[AllJustADream all just a nightmare]] Donald was having and it was made clear he hated being a Nazi.]]
* MemeticPsychopath: Pretty much the point of ''{{Webcomic/Dolan}}'' is to exxagerate Donald into a psychopath.
* MoralEventHorizon: In "Donald's Happy Birthday" [[spoiler: Donald sees their nephews buying a box of cigars and wrongfully thinks that they want to smoke, when they actually wanted to make a present for him. He becomes furious than ever and decides to punish their nephews forcing'em to smoke the entire box of cigars at once in their tiny treehouse and even increases the smoke with a bellows. Even when they pass out all sick and exhausted Donald triumphantly yells for the boys to "have another cigar!"]] While Donald can be a jerk in some circumstances, but still holding some sympathy, here can be considered downright cruel. [[spoiler:And then he feels bad when he learns the cigars were meant to be a gift for him.]]
* OlderThanTheyThink: The name Donald Duck first appeared in a written poem, ''More Hoozoo'' in 1931. (However, the illustrated duck did not resemble the character as we know him.)
** This is bound to happen to any youngster that discovers Donald through his [[WesternAnimation/HouseOfMouse more]] [[WesternAnimation/MickeyMouseClubhouse modern]] [[Franchise/KingdomHearts appear]][[VideoGame/EpicMickey ances]] and takes time to realize the character is [[LongRunner 77 years old]].
* TearJerker: The ending of "Donald's Happy Birthday" is a pretty good contender for one.
** Also, the part where Donald thinks he killed his nephews in "Traunt Officer Donald".
* UnpopularPopularCharacter
* WereStillRelevantDammit: In ''computer.don'', Donald is depicted as being pathetically behind the times (having a rotary phone and an old fashioned ice box that Goofy stops by to refill), and is repeatedly labeled a dweeb because of it.
