• Accidental Innuendo: The story starts with the Doctor exploring the planet holding a device. When the natives of the planet stop him to ask what it is, he explains that it's a "reactive vibrator" and offers to demonstrate.
• He Really Can Act: Frederick Jaeger does a good job of mimicking William Hartnell’s mannerisms after Jano absorbs the Doctor’s life force, a performance he was aided in through coaching with the man himself.
