- Heartwarming in Hindsight: While Dr. Burke doesn't get to marry Ophelia, their actors (Leslie Phillips and Angela Scoular) would get married twelve years later.
- Retroactive Recognition:
- Eve is played by Yutte Stensgaard, who would later be best known for playing Carmilla Karnstein in Lust for a Vampire.
- A doctor on TV is played by Gerald Sim, who would later be best known for playing the Rector in To the Manor Born.
- The taxi driver who takes Dr. Burke to the Golden Horn is played by John Bluthal, who would later be best known for playing Frank Pickle in The Vicar of Dibley.
- One of the nurses watching TV with Dr. Burke is played by Sheila White, who would later be best known for playing Rosie Noggett in the Confessions of a... Series.
- Special Effect Failure: When Dawn is soaked by a splash of water from Captain Spratt falling in the pool, the water has clearly been thrown by a crewmember offscreen, and it almost entirely misses Dawn who wails that she's all wet when she clearly isn't.
- Values Dissonance: The fact that Satterjee is played by Graham Stark in Brownface is bad enough on its own, but some of the Funny Foreigner gags go too far, such as Dr. Burke calling the Indian music he listens to "Top of the Poppadoms".
