• Americans Hate Tingle: Ireland did not take kindly to this special, with multiple articles advising parents to not watch it especially with their children, since it heavily averts Special Occasions Are Magic with Greg not really all that concerned with Santa, knowing full well his parents are the ones who puts the presents under the tree, and all the Christmas Miracles the Heffleys get are usually the positive results of their own actions or pure happenstance rather than the story falling back on the traditional "Santa was real all along and influenced the lives of the main characters for the better" twist.
• Surprisingly Improved Sequel: Many have considered this the best animated Wimpy Kid film out of the three released, due to having a much more clearer focus (and long-overdue Adaptational Karma in regards to Manny) with its story. It helps that unlike the first two animated films, Cabin Fever was never adapted into a live-action movie, allowing it to stand on its own merits rather than fall victim to the comparisons resulting from Audience-Coloring Adaptation.
