- Periphery Demographic: In the spring of 2020 "Rhythm of the Night" gained new life as the anthem of RuPaul's Drag Race. During the show's 12th season, RuPaul constantly made references to the fact that contestant Crystal Methyd sported a mullet extremely similar to El DeBarge's. Every time Ru referenced this, the show played "Rhythm of the Night" in the background, leading an entire new generation to discover the song.
