YMMV / Danplan

Go To

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Anne is a pretty popular guest on the series. This along with her practice being a combination of Housh's cuteness and Stephen's savageness can make her well-liked in the community.
  • Fandom Rivalry: While overall much more subdued compared to other instances of fandom rivalries, some fans of DanPlan and Plan 3 can’t agree on which is better following the split from the former: The Red Oni, Blue Oni dynamic Stephen and Hosuh took with them, or having Dan as Game Master/host for the videos, as well as differences in the upload schedules between the two channels and the different cast dynamics brought out by the new members brought on for both.
  • Friendly Fandoms: Seeing as Plan3 was more or less started to let Stephen and Hosuh continue to do DanPlan style content after leaving the channel due to the workplace dispute with Daniel, there is considerable overlap with the DanPlan fanbase.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • In “By The Way, What if You Were the Last Person on Earth?”, Hosuh is shown to have painted an entire town with multicolored paint in an effort to keep his sanity. However about halfway into the series blood is represented by-guess what-multicolored liquid.
      • For even more Epileptic Trees interpretation, being the last person on earth, it’s possible that Hosuh used his own blood.
    • After Stephen announced he was leaving Danplan in part because of a serious argument with Dan. Seeing Dan pretend he and Stephen got in a serious fight and that the channel would be in trouble because of it in "By the way, Let's Prank Hosuh!" is significantly less humorous and more of a grim prediction of things to come.
    • In the video "By the way, Can You Become a SuperHero | Final Episode", Stephen's disguise reads "'Good' Employee" and Dan says their hero work is part of an "unpaid internship". This was recorded before Stephen officially left the channel and the jokes are now interpreted as Dan getting the last laugh on Stephen's resignation and sending one last insult before his departure.
    • In Stephen's Livestream, he revealed the "By the way, Can You Survive Disneyland?" video was supposed to be a private event where Dan would thank everyone for reaching the milestone of 2 million subscribers but he secretly brought the camera to make money off of the event. It was later revealed that Dan had been underpaying the animators so he can keep a higher percentage of income for himself.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: Thanks to The Right Opinion's video about the whole drama that led to the breakdown between Dan and Stephen, many people that never even heard of DanPlan became aware of the channel and everybody involved in it because of the controversy. Stephen's departure and elaboration on what caused him to do so caused quite a stir and was quickly picked up by lots of communities, and add on the the fact when the Channel took a significant hit in viewers when Stephen left, most people primarily know them for the drama.
