YMMV / Cyborg Kuro-chan

Go To

  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff:
    • The show proved to be pretty popular in Latin America thanks to its very well received dub, helped by the more lax censorship laws over there letting it air freely in many TV networks despite its heavy amounts of firearms and gun violence. The performances by Ernesto Lezama and Sergio Bonilla as Kuro and Mi-kun are still well remembered to this day.
    • It was quite a fad in Indonesia as well, though not as big as the other titles.
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: There was a videogame tie in for Playstation 1, developed by Konami and it's a pretty good side scrolling shooter that retains the zaniness of the anime.
  • Superlative Dubbing: The Latin American dub is generally regarded in its region as much more enjoyable than the Japanese original thanks to its excellent voicework, and voice tones surpassing the original for many Spanish fans. To the point many fans there are surprised by how high pitched Kuro's and Mi's voices are in the original compared to the dub.
