• The Woobie: Alex and Anna, whose love for one another is restrained by the prejudice of the world around them. When the former is critically injured near the end of the episode, Anna braves the sun's rays turning her to ash to get Alex to the hospital, finally disintegrating just as he's taken inside. Furthermore, they've respectively had to live with only a violent bigot for a father and scars (physical and psychological) they received from the violent residents of their old neighborhood.
