- Awesome Moments: Arianne sassing Etain. This is the woman who got most of the Ninth Legion killed, and she's punked out by a hermit in the woods. Etain never discovers the men hiding in the hut.
- Best Known for the Fanservice: This is the movie where Michael Fassbender runs around shirtless in the snow for about twenty minutes.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Dominic West's General Virilius for being A Father to His Men and Too Cool to Live as noted below.
- Heartwarming Moments: The farewell between Arianne and Quintus. Despite their short time together, they clearly do make a connection.Arianne: Good luck, Roman.
Quintus: Good luck, witch. - Retroactive Recognition: You might recognize Tarak's actor Riz Ahmed, the actor who would go on to play Bodhi Rook in Rogue One and Carlton Drake in Venom (2018).
- Ron the Death Eater: Some members of the fandom will often ignore the shades of grey presented with the characters - and paint either side as 100% justified in their actions. This is usually the Picts - due to Etain's Freudian Excuse and the murdered child.
- Special Effects Failure: During some of the fight scenes, some of the Picts' shields are shown bending, clearly made of a more pliable material than wood or metal.
- Tear Jerker:
- Bothos getting shot by an archer just as he gets to the wall, and Quintus carrying him across it so he can die on the other side.
- Etain's death is also played tragically. Despite her getting all his men killed, Quintus seems to pity her as she dies.
- Too Cool to Live: General Virilus and Ubricullius.
