YMMV / Carry On Emmannuelle

Go To

  • Common Knowledge: Barbara Windsor was believed to have walked off the set in disgust at the poor script, but in reality had never set foot on the set due to filming clashing with a holiday she was going on.
  • Fanon: Some fans like to believe that the man who Mrs. Dangle flirts with in her launderette Flashback is Henry, her late husband.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: It's a near guarantee that you'll find no fans that speak of this film positively.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Theodore Valentine is played by Larry Dann, who would later be best known for playing Sergeant Peters in The Bill.
  • Sequelitis: It's usually considered a toss-up between this and Carry On England as to which is the absolute nadir of the series. Regardless of which one any given fan chooses however, they'll usually admit that the other isn't far behind.
  • Special Effect Failure: When Emmannuelle is flirting with the sentry, the street behind her looks incredibly fake and two-dimensional.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The film is a parody of Emmanuelle, which came out four years earlier. Furthermore, the film opens with a disco theme, firmly planting it in the late seventies. The overall attempt at being an Awful British Sex Comedy was an attempt to prove the series still had teeth in the wake of the Confessions of a... Series.
