Genius Bonus: The Capricorn One is, by and large, made from modified Apollo program technology, including the launch vehicle (an obvious Saturn V rocket). This isn't as weird as it seems, since there were several 1970s studies on the feasibility of improved and expanded Apollo hardware being used for interplanetary flights to Venus and Mars, in addition to the Cut Short 70s Skylab program.
