- Awesome Music:
- "Digital Versicolor" by Glass Candy, living proof that Nicolas Winding Refn knew his way around Synthwave music even before he popularized it with Drive.
- "It's a Sin" by the Pet Shop Boys is employed wonderfully in the main trailer, as well as an inspired sequence in the psychiatric prison.
- "Your Silent Face" by New Order. Manages to make us feel an "awwww" moment for a violent sociopath being released from jail.
- The Walker Brothers' haunting "The Electrician" plays during the film's opening scene.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The first thing Bronson sees upon being taken to the psychiatric prison is another inmate defecating into his own hand and then smearing it on his face.
- Fight Scene Failure: Well, maybe fight is too strong a word, but during the scene where Charlie knocks out the owner of the jewelry shop, which he does by slamming his head against the table, it's obvious that his head never touches the table.
- Jerkass Woobie: In some scenes the titular character can be this, especially when he's sent to the "Funny Farm".
- Memetic Mutation: "Shut your fucking mouth! Shut the fuck up, you CUNT!"
- Signature Scene: The hostage scene, due to the countless amount of memorable quotes and memes from it.
