- Anvilicious: With the oil spills, airless wastelands, numerous destroyed environments, and the mutants all stemming from pollution from a company called the Toxanol Corporation, whose misdeeds are constantly brought up, you might get the idea that destroying the environment is bad.
- Padding: A common criticism of the game is that it feels very stretched-out, often requiring players to trek back and forth across long stretches of the open world in order to complete objectives.
- So Okay, It's Average: Biomutant doesn't exactly reinvent the Wide-Open Sandbox wheel in any way, and the $60 asking price tag seems a wee bit steep, but it's still a fun, engaging romp with plenty of action and the world has a lot of charm."
- Ugly Cute: All of the characters you meet are mutant critters of some degree. They'll have odd fur colorations, weird body proportions, or even physical deformities of some nature thanks to the heavily polluted environment they dwell in. That doesn't stop them from being absolutely adorable.
