• Draco in Leather Pants: While Melisa is shocked by Alejandro's villainous actions, the fic seems to attempt to defend or even justify them, as Alejandro does exactly that with Melisa after he returns from the competition and Melissa eventually comes to understand what he was going through when she and her brother enter The Ridonculous Race. It doesn't help that Melisa barely even interacts with any of Alejandro's victims, thus leaving out their far more critical and much less positive opinions regarding Alejandro's actions.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: When Melisa and Alejandro attend the cast reunion, the fic misses the opportunity to have Melisa interact with the other first-generation competitors (with the exception of Noah, who quickly rejects her attempts at small talk) and get their side of the story on Alejandro's actions. Having her interact with characters who were more seriously impacted by Alejandro such as Bridgette would have been a great way for the fic to widen Melisa's views on her brother's actions and understand how the others feel about it.
