- Archive Panic: Bernice has a long history.
- Continuity Lock-Out: A number of characters and storylines have background and development in the prose novels and anthologies, the worst offender being season two of the single disc releases where Peter's conception and birth take place in the novels long out of print (both titles were made available as ebooks in 2017) and the occupation of the Collection by the Fifth Axis being covered in the short story anthology Life During Wartime (the Axis having appeared in previous novels). However the novels are getting regular audiobook reading download releases. Add in that the audio releases are getting gradual download options (up to season 6 as of December 2020) and listeners who don't get the CDs are in the slow burn. To get the full picture you do need to have read over a dozen books, some of which are out of print.
- Draco in Leather Pants: Oh Brax. Seriously, this man has started wars, destroyed whole planets and been tinkering with the timelines (and everyone's lives) for decades. Yet he is still one of the most popular characters produced in the Expanded Universe. At first he was popular because of his moral ambiguity but even when he became much more evil he retained his fanbase (several members of which go on and on about his silky-smooth voice).
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Chanticlear's ambiguous gender in "A Tub Full of Cats". The viewers only know that there is any confusion because the characters tell us so - they were a bit too successful in making the (female) actor sound male.
