- Epic Riff: Quite a few, including "Dark Entries" and "Double Dare".
- Even Better Sequel: Mask averted Sophomore Slump by being either this or at least on the same level as their debut, In the Flat Field.
- Fanon Discontinuity: Go Away White is usually ignored by some fans.
- Heartwarming Moments: During a backstage moment in the concert film Gotham, David talks about the time one of Daniel's most prized possessions, a valuable vintage biker's jacket, was stolen by a Loony Fan. A little later two fans are introduced that had managed to track the jacket down and have come to bring it back to Daniel, eleven years (!) after it was stolen.
- More Popular Spin-Off: While neither act have been as influential as Bauhaus, both Love and Rockets and Peter Murphy's solo career, in America at least. Love and Rockets' "So Alive" peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Peter Murphy's "Cuts You Up" made it to #55 on the same chart, and both songs peaked at #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. David J also scored a #1 Modern Rock single in the chart's early days with "I'll be Your Chauffeur".
- Narm/Narm Charm: Happens occasionally with some of their lyrics, which can make those lines a little hard to take seriously. He's the poison IN YOUR POISON
- Peter's stage presence and delivery could sometimes border on over-the-top, which depending on the listener could be seen as either this trope or pure Crazy Is Cool.
- The video for "Spirit", due to its outdated special effects. The video for the Dalis Car song "The Judgement is the Mirror" hasn't aged well either for the same reason.
- Once Original, Now Common: Some people might listen to "Bela Lugosi's Dead" and not understand the hype, but the song was a big influence on Goth Rock and goth subculture in general.
- Signature Song: "Bela Lugosi's Dead," of course.
