• Anvilicious: Some of the questions Lizzie Mae gets asked are so ignorant that they aren't even funny, and the show can come across as more heavy-handed than comedic. However, it needs to be remembered that almost every question in the video was asked to Dungey by real visitors when she was working at Mount Vernon. The fact that people in the 21st century could ask, in all seriousness, questions like "How did you get to be housemaid for such a distinguished Founding Father? Did you read the advertisement in the newspaper?" is...depressing.
