• Alas, Poor Scrappy: True, Susan Williams wasn't very popular due to her Bitch in Sheep's Clothing tendencies, but what Thea did to her was just cruel.
• Broken Base: Thea's actions against Susan. While some think that she went too far in framing her for plagiarism and getting her fired, others state that Susan was always shady and was about to expose Oliver's secret, so Thea did what she had to. Others are also mad at Oliver for being angry, especially considering that Susan was lying to him the whole time, and that he himself has killed to protect his secret.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Dinah's reluctance to step in to Laurel's shoes helps shake off the hate she's been getting since her debut.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: China White, one of Oliver's longest running enemies and the person so dangerous Waller was going to shoot down a plane full of innocent people to take her out, is brought back as little more than a random henchman for the far less interesting Liza Warner. The episode then doesn't even bother to confirm whether she survived the climactic battle.
